About Latinometrics
We launched in 2021 to help plug Latin America's data gap. We make data our sole agenda, ensuring you can trust what you read and see the region's potential clearly.
Latinometrics. Because Latin America deserves better than surface-level narratives.

Our Team
Meet the people behind Latinometrics.
Ernesto Canales
Co-Founder & CEO
Economist and data scientist from the University of Texas at Austin. After growing up in Torreón, Mexico, and spending eight years in the US, Ernesto returned to Mexico in 2021 and noticed a critical gap: no major publication covered Latin America with data stories. That's how Latinometrics was born.
Gabriel Cohen
Contributing Editor & Partner
Scholar and analyst with deep expertise in Latin America's political economy. Gabriel brings journalistic rigor and global perspective to Latinometrics content. He has written for outlets around the region and worldwide and is currently completing a PhD at Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
Manuel Yanez
Data Analyst
Economist from the Central University of Venezuela. Manuel is a specialized economic researcher who has experience tracking financial and macro trends across Latin America. He's previously carried out macroeconomic projections for Bancaribe and the Central Bank of Venezuela.
