Agreement to be bound

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Latinometrics. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use our services. We may update these Terms periodically, and your continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any changes.

Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to create an account or subscribe to our services. If you are accessing our services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

Relationship to other policies

These Terms incorporate by reference our Privacy Policy and Legal Disclaimer. Together, these documents govern your use of Latinometrics. In case of conflict, these Terms take precedence for subscription-related matters.

Account creation

We use Clerk for secure authentication. You may create an account using your email address or through supported third-party providers (Google, etc.). You are responsible for providing accurate information during registration.

Account security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Notify us immediately at hola@latinometrics.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

One account per user

Each individual may maintain only one account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent content limits, share subscriptions, or abuse promotions is prohibited and may result in account termination.

Available plans

Latinometrics offers the following subscription options:

• Monthly Plan: $5 USD per month, billed monthly with automatic renewal
• Yearly Plan: $49 USD per year (equivalent to ~$4.08/month), billed annually with automatic renewal
• Lifetime Plan: One-time payment starting at $250 USD for permanent access to current premium features

Payment processing

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. We accept major credit cards, debit cards, and other payment methods supported by Stripe in your region. All prices are in US Dollars (USD) unless otherwise indicated.

Automatic renewal

Monthly and yearly subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. We will attempt to charge your payment method on file. If payment fails, we may retry or suspend your premium access.

Price changes

We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days notice to current subscribers. Price changes will apply to the next billing cycle after the notice period. Lifetime plan holders are not affected by price increases for features included at the time of purchase.

How to cancel

Cancel your subscription through the Stripe customer portal accessible from your account settings or via the "Manage" link in your subscription details. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period—you retain access until then.

30-day money-back guarantee

All plans include a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you are unsatisfied with your subscription for any reason, request a full refund within 30 days of your initial purchase or renewal by emailing hola@latinometrics.com.

Refunds after 30 days

After the 30-day period, we do not provide pro-rata refunds for cancelled subscriptions. You may continue to access premium content until the end of your paid period.

Lifetime plan refunds

Lifetime plan purchases are eligible for the same 30-day money-back guarantee. After 30 days, lifetime purchases are non-refundable as you retain permanent access to the features included at the time of purchase.

Premium subscription includes:

• Priority access to new content and features
• Downloadable charts and data visualizations
• Ad-free reading experience
• Newsletter priority and exclusive content

Service availability

We strive for 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled maintenance, technical issues, or circumstances beyond our control may temporarily limit service availability. We are not liable for any losses due to service interruptions.

Content and feature changes

We continuously improve our platform and may add, modify, or remove features. While we aim to enhance the service, some changes may affect how you use Latinometrics. Material changes that significantly reduce premium benefits will be communicated in advance.

Permitted uses

You may use Latinometrics for personal, educational, and professional purposes. This includes reading articles, sharing links to content on social media, citing our research with attribution, and using our currency tools for informational purposes.

Prohibited activities

You may NOT:

• Share your login credentials or allow others to access your account
• Systematically download, scrape, or harvest content using automated tools
• Redistribute, republish, or resell our content commercially without written permission
• Remove or alter copyright notices, attribution, or other proprietary markings
• Use our services to transmit malware, spam, or engage in illegal activities
• Attempt to bypass content limits, paywall, or authentication systems
• Create derivative works from our charts or visualizations for commercial use

Enforcement

Violation of these terms may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without refund. We reserve the right to take legal action for serious violations, including seeking damages for commercial misappropriation of our content.

Ownership

Latinometrics owns or licenses all content on our platform, including articles, data visualizations, charts, graphics, logos, and software. Your subscription grants you a personal, non-transferable license to access and view this content—not ownership.

Attribution and fair use

You may quote, cite, and reference our work for commentary, criticism, news reporting, or academic purposes with proper attribution. Attribution should include "Latinometrics" and a link to the original content where possible.

Commercial licensing

For commercial use of our content—including republication, reports, presentations, or derivative works—contact hola@latinometrics.com for licensing terms. Unauthorized commercial use may result in legal action.

Disclaimer of warranties

Our services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that our content is accurate, complete, current, or suitable for any particular purpose. See our Legal Disclaimer for additional details on content limitations.

Limitation of damages

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Latinometrics and its founders, employees, and contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our services. Our total aggregate liability is limited to USD $100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, whichever is greater.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts located in Delaware for any disputes arising under these Terms.

Informal dispute resolution

Before initiating formal legal proceedings, you agree to contact us at hola@latinometrics.com and attempt to resolve any dispute informally for at least 30 days. Most concerns can be resolved quickly through direct communication.

Arbitration

If informal resolution fails, any dispute shall be resolved through binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Commercial Arbitration Rules. Arbitration will be conducted in English, and the arbitrator's decision will be final and enforceable in any court of competent jurisdiction.

Acknowledgment

By creating an account or subscribing to Latinometrics, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not create an account or purchase a subscription.
