Latin America’s tea offering, yerba mate, has recently gained worldwide appeal. In the US, one can now buy it in carbonated energy drink form or order bags of its more traditional form on Amazon.

In the last few decades, however, Argentina has stepped up to the world stage, becoming a top-10 tea producer and successfully commercializing mate. The country's output has grown 7x since the 1990s to a stunning 300K+ annual tonnes through improved production practices which have resulted in higher crop yields. The market for this Paraguayan native plant was projected at $2B+ this year.
