Twitch is a world that is still foreign to most people but rising at an exploding pace. According to Similar Web, the site now ranks 46 globally in traffic and shows no signs of slowing anytime soon.

So what is Twitch?

The concept of the site, which Amazon acquired for $1B in 2014, is simple: stream anything live. This concept started primarily for online video gaming, an industry now worth $200B+ per year, but has evolved into all sorts of live streams — political commentary, reaction videos, music, art creation, etc.

When looking at Spanish-speaking "Twitchers" or content creators on the platform, Spain dominates the list of stars that have emerged in the past few years. We find this odd because Spain has roughly 1/10th the population of Spanish-speaking Latin America. As the platform continues to gain traction in LatAm, we predict that there will be a meteoric rise of new superstars emerging from our region.

Make no mistake, the people in our chart are superstars. For instance, the top LatAm creator, Juan Guarnizo, has over 6M followers on several platforms. But what's most incredible is the amount of time these creators can get from their audiences. Juan has 550M+ all-time YouTube views, and as our chart shows, 168M views on Twitch in just the past 30 days, or a combined 2.94M hours of watch time.

Most of them stream themselves playing games like Minecraft or Fortnite. But according to data from Stream Charts, they spend most of their stream time doing other things like watching World Cup games or hosting cash prize challenges (a trend popularized by Mr. Beast, one of the world's most famous YouTubers).

Grabbing vast amounts of time from an audience pays off handsomely. Twitchers can generate millions in income from ads, paid subscriptions, donations, and sponsorships.
